On 7th June the Bloco team visited Langley Park Girls School in Beckenham and led a full day workshop with 50 year 7 girls. We had a great time teaching them Samba Reggae and a House number courtesy of Shayanna.  At the end of the day they performed all 3 pieces to the rest of the year 7 in the school hall and had a great response.

The girls clearly enjoyed the day (especially Mat’s comedy and dancing skills!):

“I enjoyed being able to learn new music and to be able to play a drum.  I love tapping on things and to be able to express this on a drum is great. I wish the workshop was every Tuesday!” Lauren

“The tutors taught very well and they were very nice and funny and always gave you a hand when you needed one, thank you!” Ciara

“I enjoyed playing all the different rhythms and hearing them all fit together to make an uplifting sound” Tahirah

“I enjoyed it because the music sounded like someone really professional was doing it and I found it fun because I really like music” Emily

“I really like the type of music and the drums are one of my favourite instruments.  Also by performing it made me boost my confidence. And I liked the teachers, they were fun!” Imogen

“I enjoyed Mat’s dancing” Tia
