Kinetika Bloco has an dynamic board of trustees that is instrumental in making sure that Kinetika Bloco does everything it sets out to do and does it well. The diverse board is made up of people passionate about what the Bloco. We proudly present, our champions, our board of trustees.

Nicholai La Barrie

Co-Chairperson of the Board

Nicholai is a theatre and film director is an Artistic Associate at Lyric Hammersmith and has been a MOBO Fellow. Nicholai has worked with us since 2006, joining us on our venture into the world of storytelling. “I am so honoured to be Co-Chairperson of the board of trustees of Kinetika Bloco, it is unique in its ability to create a community and a family of some of the most talented young musicians in South London. I am so proud of the work we do.”

Katherine Goulding

Co-Chairperson of the Board

Katherine Goulding is the Head of Learning and Development at Citadel. She has been on the Kinetika Board since 2014. Whilst making sure that we stick to mission, she has also shared her expertise in leadership on our Leadership course. Helping to equip and inspire the next generation by sharing skills that will help them in life and success. 

Catherine Boyd


Catherine is the Arts and Events Manager for Tower Hamlets Council and has worked in the arts and events sector for over 20 years. Catherine is committed to making culture available to everyone. In 2001, whilst working for the Thames Festival, she helped us to set up our first ever summer school at the Bargehouse and then in 2014, joined our board.

Laura Murden


Laura has been has been supporting KB for almost 10 years, is part of the marketing and fundraising volunteer team and joined the board of trustees in 2021. Laura brings skills from the commercial business world having worked for a variety of technology and music companies.

Yolanda Mercy


Yolanda is Kinetika Bloco Alumni. She’s a London based Writer and Performer for stage, screen and audio who works worldwide. She was named Artist to Watch by the British Council, part of the BBC Writersroom and her writing has featured in Huffington Post. Yolanda is a published author and became a KB trustee in 2021. She’s thrilled to be back.

Helen Firminger


Helen joined as trustee in 2021. Helen is is a parent in Tulse Hill, who is immensely grateful for Bloco’s support to her teenage son through summer school, Thursday nights, and all through the lockdown. Helen is an ecologist and a professional consultant and fundraiser for charities and local authorities.

Tikhoze Banda


Tikhoze, a payment strategist, with experience supporting merchants, currently works at Spotify. Through family, friends and mentees who have been part of KB, she has seen first hand the empowerment that KB can provide young people. Tikhoze is proud of the work KB has done so far and hopes to help continue this as a trustee. Tikhoze joined us in 2021.

Kathryn Ogunbona


Kathryn Ogunbona (FCCA) is a Financial Controller and Qualified Accountant. She has been a Trustee for many years now and continues to steer Bloco in the right direction whilst also facilitating on our Leadership Course, sharing her financial skills for managing your finances and understanding your financial responsibilities as a self-employed person.
