KB – The Lockdown stories

We have our latest edition to add to our Lockdown Stories collection. We asked the Bloco family – Bloco seniors, Bloco juniors, Bloco mums, dads and aunts, how they’re feeling being in doors 24-7, what they’ve been doing, the pros and the cons. Why? It’s good to share!

This edition is is from Bloco mum Mel. She is Peter’s mum and she can be found supporting Peter and all of us on gigs. Mel also helps with costumes. In fact, last summer, Bloco member’s would have

Here’s our third share from Mel – Bloco mum and costume angel!

Name: Peter’s mum. (Mel)

Bloco Section: Bloco Parent.

What have I been up to during lockdown?Knitting legwarmers so I can exercise 1980’s style! And sewing and watching lots of box sets.

How are you feeling? A bit up and down (though that could be the step aerobics!) Seriously, I feel ok, I try to only watch the news once a day so that I don’t get too stressed, that is quite hard though!

How do you feel about your exams/gigs/teaching being off for now? I can work from home so I still get paid, which I know a lot of people are worried about. I miss my colleagues, though having work meetings on Zoom can be fun, except we all talk over each other all the time! And I miss office cake!

What are you finding difficult? Eating too much, not being able to see and hug my family. I don’t really mind staying in as I have a lovely view and a balcony to sit on if the weather is nice.

One thing that would make anyone smile if they were feeling down right now? I would knit you a pair of leg warmers and we could do a 1980’s aerobics class together over Zoom.
