Yesterday Kinetika Bloco completed a term of workshops in Highshore School Peckham with a performance in Peckham Square.  Bloco Leaders Shayanna Dyer-Harris and Vanessa Williams had been leading an after school club with AKA Drummers (who we helped to set up in 2011) and woodwind musicians from nearby Peckham Academy.  Together over 6 weeks they learnt and performed Caravan, London is the Place for Me, and I wish I knew to an audience of Highshore School kids and local shoppers in the square with great results.

Four of the students from Highshore have also taken part in Kinetika Bloco Spring and Summer Schools over the last 2 years and it was great to see them helping their fellow students to learn the drumming skills that they have enjoyed.

Thanks to great support from Music Teacher Martin Weightman and a flourishing relationship between Kinetika Bloco and Highshore Special Needs school we will continue working together this year on Our Greatest Team Parade in September with some of their students joining the Bloco dancers in the parade.
