This week marks a milestone in our fundraising efforts towards our Shutdown Sessions appeal. After setting ourselves a target at the start of lockdown of £3,000, we have just gone over the halfway mark. Our appeal has reached £1,513.
We would like to take this time to thank everyone who has donated. Also to highlight some of the different ways in which we and some of you have been fundraising.
A lot of our supporters have taken part in the online events we have hosted including a Bloco’s Big Fat Quiz and a Samba with Shay. We opened these events up to the public and asked people to donate what they could. Your generosity at these events helped raise £610 towards our total. Join us at the next quiz on Thursday 25th June.
Bloco Auntie, Rachel Mason has been making face masks for her friends who have been donating to Bloco’s Shutdown Sessions in return. “I have helped Bloco over the last few years sew costumes. During the coronavirus I thought I’d put my skills to use along with all my left over pieces of fabric and make some facemasks. As a radiographer, I was able to get a proper one from the hospital to check the pattern! I asked people who wanted them to give a donation to Bloco’s Shutdown Sessions because I love the work that Bloco does with young people in London and think it is really important especially at this difficult time!” Thank you for your creative contribution!
Bad Ass Brass pooled together and donated a massive £240 to us with this message “We love the work you do and try to support charities dedicated to music education as much as we can.” Thank you all for thinking of us at this time, we hope that we can work together at some point in the future!
Another one of our amazing supporters and volunteers, Laura Murden has organised an online raffle, which so far has raised £295. Tickets are still available until midnight on Wednesday 24th June.
Please help us reach our goal of £3000 to help continue the work we are doing during lockdown. You can donate here or join one of our upcoming events. If you have any fundraising ideas or have any questions about how you can help, please contact aneira@kinetikabloco.co.uk.
